The World Is New

You ask me why the sky is blue,

You ask me what is two plus two,

Your world is always something new.

Your world is new.

You say you'll do it by your 'lone,

You won't give me the telephone,

But I get a hug when I come home.

And my world is new.

And every hour's a wonder

And every day's a first

And I can see it through your eyes - and that's the best.

I ask you if you're ticklish

And you say, 'No, I'm English'.

And my world is new.

And in the small hours of the night,

The witches give you such a fright,

But then one night you sleep right through.

And my world is new.

Oh god, my world is new!

And when it's late at night

And you've all finally gone to bed.

Then I can sit back and enjoy

All the love

I feel for you

And my world is new.

Your favourite word's 'absolutely'

And the hedgehogs drink my cup of tea.

And my world is new.

There's bacon bits between your toes

And the floor is covered with your clothes.

And my world is new.

And though it's sometimes difficult,

Like with a troublesome tooth,

I wouldn't change it for all the world

And that's the truth.

You ask me why the sky is blue.

You ask me what is two plus two.

There's joy in everything you do

And my world is new.
